Welcome to the Northwest Pennsylvania

Area Health Education Center

We work alongside schools, healthcare organizations, community partners, and local leaders to strengthen the health of Northwest Pennsylvania. By supporting students exploring healthcare careers, expanding educational opportunities for current professionals, and helping communities address their unique health challenges, we are building a stronger healthcare workforce and healthier communities across our region. Our commitment is to ensure that every community, especially those facing barriers to care, has greater access to the people, resources, and partnerships needed to thrive.

Supporting the next generation of healthcare professionals serving rural and underserved northwestern Pennsylvania

In the rural and underserved communities of northwestern Pennsylvania, quality healthcare isn’t always easy to reach. NW PA AHEC exists to change that—by supporting, mentoring, and opening doors for the students and health professionals who choose to serve the communities that need them most. We’re a small, passionate organization doing meaningful work, and every gift brings us one step closer to a healthier region for everyone who calls northwestern Pennsylvania home.

We rely on the generosity of people who believe every community deserves quality healthcare. If our mission speaks to you, we’d be honored to receive your support.
